Steve graduated from Cornell University in 1991 with a B.S. in Finance and Marketing and began his career trading currencies in the pits of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. After earning his MBA at Kellogg’s School of Management, Steve transitioned into the next phase of his financial career working on Wall Street. Over the next 20yrs, Steve was instrumental in building out Robert Baird’s institutional sales & trading platform, where he eventually left to run the trading desk at L.A. based Wedbush Securities.
Despite his success on Wall Street, Steve found himself continually being drawn to the challenges and rewarding nature found within Private Wealth Management. As a result, Steve has spent years preparing himself to enter the wealth management field, getting credentialed, and licensed. Steve has earned the Certified Private Wealth Advisor® certification. Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA®) is an advanced professional certification for advisors who serve high-net-worth clients. It’s designed for seasoned professionals who seek the latest, most advanced knowledge and techniques to address the sophisticated needs of clients with a minimum net worth of $5 million. Unlike credentials that focus specifically on investing or financial planning, the CPWA® program takes a holistic and multidisciplinary approach.
After a very long and deliberate search, Steve chose to join the BMG team after having found, what he proudly states, “a team offering the best of both advisory worlds - the high-touch, holistic planning found at boutique firms, coupled with all the firepower and resources that come with being affiliated with a world class financial institution!”
Although Steve grew up in Valparaiso, Indiana, he spent 6 summers skiing and competing for the Min-Aqua Bats water ski show, where he would meet his eventual wife, Katie Zore. After getting married in 2000, they have been kept busy raising their 2 boys, Evan and Colby, and 2 black labs in Mequon, WI. Steve does his best to find time to hunt his black labs, saying “yes” to any snow ski trip that is suggested and coaching a myriad of youth sports, including Cardinal Football, Mustang Wrestling Club and any other team that is short of “volunteering dads.”
